Brita is committed to reducing bottled water waste and has teamed up with the following partners to support the FilterForGood pledge.

The Surfrider Foundation and FilterForGood are teaming up to promote the importance of clean water and show individuals that small changes can make a big difference for people and the environment. Even our smallest creeks flow into our greatest rivers, lakes, bays, oceans and even into our homes. Given that all water is connected, the partnership aims to motivate individuals to make positive choices to preserve the quality and integrity of the global water supply. As part of FilterForGood’s exclusive national water partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, FilterForGood will donate $100,000 to the Surfrider Foundation to fund ongoing efforts to protect and preserve our world's oceans, waves and beaches by working to maintain and enhance water quality throughout the entire span of the nation's watersheds.

Brita was the title sponsor of Brita Climate Ride 2008 and 2009, the first multi-day bicycle ride where pedal strokes raised money and awareness for meaningful climate change and renewable energy legislation. During each ride the Brita Climate Riders pedaled 300 miles from New York City to Washington, D.C., each raising $2,400 for beneficiary organizations like Focus the Nation, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and Clean Air - Cool Planet. Brita Climate Ride is also a climate conference on wheels; each night expert speakers educate the riders about the science, policies and solutions to the climate crisis. And, thanks to Brita there aren't any empty bottled water containers along the route, because the riders are supplied with Brita filtered water in special FilterForGood bike bottles. Visit ClimateRide.org to see more videos and photos, donate and sign up for the next ride.

Brita is supporting the effort to rebuild Greensburg, Kansas - a town completely destroyed by the worst tornado in US history. Greensburg is rebuilding green to become one of the most environmentally sustainable cities in the country. Greensburg's efforts are an inspiration to Brita, so they're lending a hand by donating $200,000 toward rebuilding the K-12 school, which will be built to LEED platinum-level sustainability standards. Brita's also creating filling stations throughout the school so students and teachers can enjoy great-tasting filtered water in refillable Nalgene FilterForGoodTM bottles, which Brita will also supply. Think of all the water bottles Greensburg will be saving! Brita is also one of the sponsors of the Planet Green series chronicling the rebuilding. The series was produced, in part, with the help of actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Season two premiered Sunday, May 3 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. To learn more about how Greensburg is rebuilding green and how you can help, visit greensburggreentown.org .
