Tornado-ravaged Greensburg rebuilds greener.
Brita is supporting the effort to rebuild Greensburg, Kansas - a town completely destroyed by the worst tornado in US history.
Importantly, Greensburg is rebuilding green - to become one of the most environmentally sustainable cities in the country. Greensburg's efforts are an inspiration to Brita's own deep commitment to environmental sustainability.
So we're lending a hand.
We're donating $200,000 toward rebuilding the K-12 school, which will be built to LEED platinum level sustainability standards.
We're also creating "Brita Filling Stations" throughout the school. In the gym, locker rooms, teachers lounges and other areas where we will attach Brita® Faucet Mounts water filtration systems to the spigots. So students and teachers can enjoy great tasting filtered water in their own refillable Nalgene FilterForGood™ bottles, which we will also supply.
At school functions and in coaches' and teachers' offices we will also make Brita® Pitchers available. Think of all the water bottles Greensburg will be saving.
Brita is also one of the sponsors of the Planet Green series chronicling the rebuilding. The series was produced, in part, with the help of actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Season two premiered Sunday, May 3 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. To learn more about how Greensburg is rebuilding green and how you can help, visit greensburggreentown.org.
Join thousands of others and go green in style with the FilterForGood bottle.
