5 Organic Sweet Treats for the Holidays
Posted by: Sarah on December 25th, 2008
Making tasty organic desserts is as easy as finding an organic market, buying the all-organic ingredients and slaving away in the kitchen, right? Right?
I don’t know about you, but with all of the holiday commitments and festivities, I don’t have the time to bake goodies all day. Honestly, I need to cut corners however and whenever I can. Thanks to the following organic bakeries and shops, I can purchase tasty organic treats for myself or as holiday gifts for my friends and family. Take a look and try to keep from drooling on your computer keyboard!
1) Organic Vegan Fudge by Allison’s Gourmet** – A new take on old-fashioned fudge candy, this smooth and rich fudge is made with organic sugar, organic fair-trade cocoa, organic coconut butter, organic coconut milk, organic vanilla and sea salt.
2) Angel Food Cupcakes** – Delicate angel food cake laced with vanilla bean and frosted with lemony cream cheese icing and a raspberry swirl. Hiding inside each cupcake is a mildly tart, homemade raspberry jam filling.
3) Theo’s 3400 Phinney Chocolate** – Named for the address of the factory where Theo chocolate makers create their magic, these organic, Fair Trade Certifiedâ„¢ milk and dark chocolate bars come in super unique flavors.
4) Pies by Diamond Organics** – Pumpkin, Apple, Blueberry and Cherry are just a few of Diamond Organics’ offerings. Check out their cakes too!
5) Organic Dark Chocolate Cookies with Sour Cherries** – A delicious, dark chocolate cookie with unexpected tartness in every bite. YUM.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and holiday season!
